Turkey's electric energy consumption rose by 8.6 percent to 21.3 billion kWh in January 2012 when compared to the same month of 2011.

Turkey's electric energy consumption rose by 9 percent to 299.3 billion kWh in 2011 compared with 2010.

According to the data from Turkish Electricity Transmission Company (TEIAS), power generation increased by 9.7 percent to 21.04 billion kWh and energy power consumption also rose by 9.2 percent to 21 billion kWh in December 2011 when compared to the same month of 2010.

Electric power generation climbed by 8.2 percent to 228.4 billion kWh year-on-year in 2011.
