Turkey's exports increase 9.6 pct in January

Turkey Exporters Assembly (TIM) President Mehmet Buyukeksi said Turkey's goal for 2014 is to reach $166.5 billion in exports.

Turkish exports increased 9.6 percent year-on-year in January hitting $12.015 billion, The Turkish Exporters' Assembly (TIM) announced on Sunday.

The garment and apparel industry had the highest exports in January with $1.589 billion. Turkey Exporters Assembly (TIM) President Mehmet Buyukeksi said Turkey's goal for 2014 is to reach $166.5 billion in exports. 

Exports declined 0.4 percent in the last 12 months, dropping to $152 billion and $401 million. The countries with the highest exports in January were Germany, Iraq and the UK.
