Turkey's Meat and Fishery Authority (EBK) has postponed its tender to import livestock from abroad, which was to be held on July 26, to August 1.
The tender has been postponed due to a change in tender specifications, EBK said in a statement on Friday.
EBK aims at purchasing 10,500 tons of live cattle with the upcoming tender.
Offers will be received in three phases for 2,500 tons, 4,000 tons and 4,000 tons of livestock respectively and no bids will be accepted from Turkish companies, the authority had announced earlier.
Livestock will be imported from the United States (excluding states of Texas, Alabama and Washington), Brazil (excluding Parana region), Uruguay, Argentina (excluding Corrientes and Misiones regions), Chile, New Zealand and Australia.
EBK has most recently held tenders to import livestock and cattle meat in September and October 2010 respectively.
