A Turkish Airlines (THY) plane enroute to Istanbul from Bangkok made emergency landing to India's Mumbai Airport on Wednesday.

The Airbus 340 plane had to land a short time after take-off because of a technical failure.

Some of the passengers came to Istanbul on Wednesday through Mumbai-Istanbul flight and the other will be brought to Istanbul on Thursday during today's Mumbai-Istanbul flight.

THY is Turkey's national airline company and is one of the fastest growing carriers in Europe. The Istanbul-based airline is using Istanbul's Ataturk Airport as a hub for flights to Europe, Asia and Africa in partnership with the Star Alliance group of airlines.
