Turkey's tourism income rose 1.8 percent in the fourth quarter of 2012 (October-November-December) when compared to the same term of last year.
According to tourism statistics of fourth quarter 2012 released by Turkey's statistics authority, TurkStat, on Wednesday, Turkey's tourism income in 2012 was calculated as $23.4 billion.
TurkStat announced, tourism income in 2012 increased 1.8 percent and reached $23 billion 440 million compared to the previous year, and more, 77.9 percent of tourism income in the fourth quarter came from foreign visitors while 22.1 percent came from Turkish citizens living overseas.
$18.7 Billion of tourism income came from individuals, 4.6 billion of it came from package tour expenditures, the institute stated.
Furthermore, in 2012 the number of departing visitors increased 1.7 percent compared to the previous year and reached 36.7 million people.
In the fourth quarter number of Turkish citizens visited abroad increased 14.7 percent compared to same quarter of 2011 and reached 1.4 million.Last Mod: 30 Ocak 2013, 11:38
