Turkey's tourism revenues rose by 74 percent to 4.5 billion U.S. dollars in the second quarter of 2010 compared to the same period last year.

Turkey's tourism revenues rose by 74 percent to 4.5 billion U.S. dollars in the second quarter of 2010 compared to the same period last year.

Turkish Board of Statistics, TurkStat, made public the figures of tourism statistics for the second quarter (April, May, June) of 2010 on Thursday.

TurkStat said that 3.6 billion U.S. dollars of revenues came from foreign tourists while 891.4 million U.S. dollars came from Turkish citizens living abroad.

Expenditures (of the people living in Turkey visiting other countries) also increased by 24.8 percent to 1.1 billion U.S. dollars in the same period.
