Turkey's trade volume with member countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization made a rapid climb in just two year to reach $62.7 billion in 2012 from $49.6 billion in 2010, data showed.

The figure accounts for 16 percent of Turkey's overall foreign trade, 7.5 percent of the country's exports and 21.6 percent of its imports.

If Turkey were a member of the Shanghai group, it would have been the third biggest economy of the organization with $783 billion as of 2012.
