Turkey's revenue from white goods such as fridges and washing machines exports has risen by one percent since last year.
According to data from the Electrical-Electronic Association and White Goods Manufacturers' Association of Turkey on Friday, 2013 exports of white goods accounted for just 2.2 percent of Turkey's total exports worth $151.7 billion.
However, they are increasing as lower labor and production costs than in Europe enables Turkey to produce less expensive consumer goods according to the associations.
The data shows that the sector's exports reached $3.46 billion in 2013 and more than $2.38 billion of products to just European countries.
The main importing countries for Turkey's white goods is the UK, Germany, and France.
The domestic sales of consumer durables totaled 6.45 million units in the last year, an increase of six percent from two years ago.
The figures also shows that the exports to Middle Eastern countries reached to $289 million, eight percent of the country´s white goods exports, in the last year.Last Mod: 24 Ocak 2014, 13:38
