Turkey's national air carrier Turkish Airlines (THY) on Friday started flights to Islamabad, Pakistan.
THY will fly from Istanbul to Islamabad three times a week; on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. The flights from Islamabad to Istanbul will be on Wednesdays, Fridays and Mondays.
THY Pakistan Director Huseyin Cepni said THY had been flying to Pakistan for 30 years, adding that they had started flights to Islamabad in addition to flights to Karachi, which is four times a week.
Based in Istanbul, THY is one of the fastest growing airline companies in the world. A Star Alliance member carrying approximately 25 million passengers a year, THY posted 286 million Turkish lira net profit in 2010.
