Representatives of Balkansiad, an association of businessmen from Turkish city of Bursa, met with the representatives of Foreign Trade Chamber of Bosnia-Herzegovina and local businessmen in Sarajevo.
Chamber President Ahmed Egrlic said the meeting was one in a series of meetings between businessmen from the two countries to discuss future investment possibilities.
"Each time we meet, and we have been meeting since 2008, it ends with a successful business cooperation. Our exports to Turkey worth nearly 50 million Euro, and we want to improve our cooperation,“ Egrlic said, explaining that metallurgy, tourism and food trade top the cooperation areas.
Deputy Governor of Bursa Ahmed Hamdi Usta stressed the need to increase the commerce between the two countries and the importance of both sides' desire to improve the level of trade.
"To fulfill that wish, one of the important factors is to achieve stability in the country. As we can see lately, Bosnia is becoming more stable which is very attractive for Turkish investors. Besides possible investments, our goal is to establish cooperation with businessmen here, and to present the results of that cooperation to the EU,“ Usta said.
A member of the main board of Chamber of Industry & Commerce in Bursa, Aytug Onur, reminded the agreement which was signed last year with the Chamber in Sarajevo.
"We want to cooperate in the areas that are most represented in Bursa which are auto industry, food industry, textile and engineering sectors, as well as to strengthen investments to Bosnia, and mutual cooperation. I want to stress that we have to overcome certain obstacles, and the public should know more about the wishes of our businesspeople to invest here,“ Onur concluded.
Balkansiad delegation will meet on Monday with representatives of different companies and the Municipality of the Old City, as well as representatives of the Turkish Embassy to Bosnia.Last Mod: 23 Eylül 2013, 15:25
