Turkish Central Bank's Monetary Policy Board convened in Ankara on Thursday for an interim meeting to discuss developments in European countries.
Chaired by Central Bank Governor Erdem Basci, the board will assess rising concern over public debt problem and global growth outlook in some European countries.
The board will make public its decision after the meeting.
The last time the Monetary Policy Board held an interim meeting was on June 25, 2006. In that meeting, the board assessed market developments and discussed several measures.
The Monetary Policy Board regularly meets once a month.
