Turkish Central Bank has sold 1.3 billion U.S. dollars in its foreign exchange selling auctions so far.
The Central Bank, which has not held forex-selling auction since April 2, 2009, resumed auctions as of August 5.
The bank sold $50 million in its first auction and the average price was 1.7344 TL. The average price rose to 1.7505 in its second auction in which $60 million was sold, and the average price increased to 1.7594 TL in the third one in which $70 million was sold.
In the following two auctions, the average price was 1.7705 TL.
In five foreign exchange selling auctions between August 12 and 18, the average price ranged between 1.7668 and 1.7821 TL.
The bank sold $140 million in its auction on August 19 and the average price rose to 1.7898.
The average price decreased to 1.7397 in the auction on September 2.
The Central Bank has sold $1.3 billion in 17 auctions held between August 5 and September 2.
