Turkish Cyprus says has share in precious substances to be found

Turkish Cypriot Prime Minister Irsen Kucuk said Tuesday that they had a share in precious substances to be found off the coast of Cyprus.

Speaking as part of activities to promote Turkish Cypriot tourism in south-eastern province of Gaziantep on Tuesday, Kucuk said that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) will not let the Greek Cypriot side waste the rights of the Turkish Cypriots.

We will overcome all problems with Turkey's support. We will carry our economy and growing tourism further, Kucuk said.

We have clean sand and sea. We have a bed capacity of more than 18,000. 13 touristic facilities in the TRNC have 5 stars. Our kitchen and restaurants also contribute to tourism in the TRNC, Kucuk said.

Also speaking in Gaziantep, Turkish Cypriot Minister of Tourism, Environment and Culture, Unal Ustel, said that the year 2011 was declared as the "Year of TNRC" in Turkey.

As a ministry, we are trying to promote Turkish Cypriot tourism in big Turkish provinces, Ustel said.

You can enter the TRNC with an ID card and without a need for a passport. There are three flights to the TRNC from Gaziantep per week. It takes only 55 minutes to reach the TRNC from Gaziantep. We would be happy to receive more residents of Gaziantep in the TRNC. Your visits will strengthen the ties between our two countries, Ustel said.
