Turkish defense and aviation companies’ exports increased by 11.5 percent in the first ten months of 2013, when compared to the same period in the previous year.

Exports of Turkish defense and aviation industry reached $1.117 billion in the first ten month of this year, Exporters Assembly’s figures showed.

The United States topped the list of buyers by purchasing $405 million worth of defense products from Turkey over the first ten month this year. Italy followed the US at $64 million, while Ukraine came third with $56 million in purchases.

Ankara, Turkey's capital, came first among other cities by exporting $466 million of defense and aviation goods.

Turkish defense and aviation companies' export sees 68 percent increase in October, which reached $130 million.
