Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Ali Babacan on Friday said, "the key to Turkey's success is political stability, healthy and well-grounded economic policy, respecting human rights, functionality of freedom and supremacy of law."
Babacan delivered a "Models of growth and lessons for Southeast Europe" titled speech at the 4th Sarajevo Business Forum.
Babacan stated that Turkey successfully resisted the global economic crisis that influenced the world in 2008 and 2009, and added that while the financial sector and public finance were problematic areas for many countries, Turkey was very strong in such fields.
Reminding of the upgrade of Turkey's credit rating, Babacan said, "the key to Turkey's success are political stability, healthy and well-grounded economic policy, respecting human rights, functionality of freedom and supremacy of law."
Babacan also touched on their employment policy in parallel with development, and added that they took measures to incentivize employment even in the situation of economic crisis.
Babacan also mentioned the contribution of the private sector in the development of Turkey.
Mahathir Mohamad, former Prime Minister of Malaysia, also delivered a speech at the forum and said they prioritized establishing peace in Malaysia which was a multi-national state.
Pointing out that Malaysia continued to grow despite the global economic crisis, Mohamed said, "our economic growth realizes around 5-6 percent. I hope it will continue this way."
