The Turkish economy minister will meet CEOs from companies in the U.S. information technology sector and visit the Silicon Valley.

Turkish economy minister heads to USA for talks

Turkish economy minister proceeded to the United States on Saturday from South Korea.

Economy Minister Zafer Caglayan who has been holding talks in South Korea since the beginning of the week will pay a visit to the United States.

Caglayan held talks regarding free trade agreement to be signed between Turkey and South Korea. He had meetings with several ministers and CEOs of South Korea during his visit to this country.

Accompanied by representatives of informatics and defense industry as well as businessmen, Economy Minister Caglayan's visit to Seattle and San Francisco is expected to last till August 19.

He is expected to hold talks on increasing Turkey's share in the U.S. market, improvement of economic and commercial relations between Turkey and the United States, investment opportunities in Turkey and initiatives between businessmen of the two countries.

The Turkish economy minister will meet CEOs from companies in the U.S. information technology sector and visit the Silicon Valley.

Caglayan will receive a Boeing 777 passenger plane manufactured for the the Turkish Airlines (THY) and return to Turkey aboard THY's newest airliner.
