Industrial employment increased 5.3 percent in the second quarter (Apr-May-Jun) of 2011 when compared to the same quarter of 2010.

It also rose 2.1 percent over the first quarter (Jan-Feb-Mar), stated TurkStat on Wednesday.

Quarterly industrial employment index was posted as 105.3.

Hours worked in industry increased 5.2 percent over to the same quarter of 2010 and 2.4 percent over the previous quarter.

Quarterly hours worked index in industry increased 5.2 percent in the second quarter of 2011 over to the same quarter of 2010, and 2.4 percent over the previous quarter. Quarterly hours worked index in industry is 104.

Gross wages-salaries in industry increased 14.4 percent over the same quarter of 2010 and 4.8 percent over the previous quarter.

Quarterly gross wages-salaries index in industry increased 14.4 percent over the same quarter of 2010 and 4.8 percent over the previous quarter in the second quarter of 2011. Quarterly gross wages-salaries index in industry is 182.

Over the same quarter of 2010, employment increased 5.6 percent in intermediate goods, 6.7 percent in durable consumer goods, 3.4 percent in non-durable consumer goods, decreased 3.4 percent in energy and increased 12.3 percent in capital goods.

Over the previous quarter, employment increased 2.6 percent in intermediate goods, 2.8 percent in durable consumer goods, 1.2 percent in non-durable consumer goods, 0.3 percent in energy and 3.4 percent in capital goods.

Over the same quarter of 2010, hours worked increased 5.5 percent in intermediate goods, 6.2 percent in durable consumer goods, 3.2 percent in non-durable consumer goods, decreased 2.3 percent in energy and increased 12.9 percent in capital goods.

Over the previous quarter, hours worked increased 2.5 percent in intermediate goods, 3.8 percent in durable consumer goods, 1.8 percent in non-durable consumer goods, 0.7 percent in energy and 3.5 percent in capital goods.

Over the same quarter of 2010, gross wages-salaries increased 17.5 percent in intermediate goods, 14.5 percent in durable consumer goods, 12.3 percent in non-durable consumer goods, 3.5 percent in energy, and 20.1 percent in capital goods.

Over the previous quarter, gross wages-salaries increased 5.9 percent in intermediate goods, by 7.4 percent in durable consumer goods, 3.1 of non-durable consumer goods, 4.7 percent in energy and 5.2 percent in capital goods.
