The Turkish Statistical Institute said in a statement on Monday, industrial production decreased 2.2 in January, compared with the same month last year. Total output decreased 1.4 percent from the previous month.
The change surprised analysts who had forecast a rise of 1.5 percent on average. Output had risen 3.6 percent in December, year-on-year.
The Mining and Quarrying index decreased 11.5 percent and the Manufacturing index decreased 2.4 percent.
Contrary to the trend, the Electricity, Gas, Steam and Air conditioning supply index increased 2.9 percent in January 2015, compared with the same month last year.Last Mod: 09 Mart 2015, 11:05
