Turkish lira (TL) gained value on the basis of both the Consumer Prices Index (CPI) and Producers' Prices Index (PPI) in March.
According to the Turkey's Central Bank data, CPI-based real effective exchange rate index (1995 = 100) rose 22.7 points from 159.5 to 182.2 points as PPI-based real effective exchange rate climbed 20.9 points to 156.1 points from 135.2 points.
In another word, TL gained value by 14.2 percent on the basis of CPI and by 15.4 percent on the basis of PPI in one-year period.
In March, TL lost value by 0.4 percent on the basis of CPI and it gained by 1.7 percent on the basis of PPI over the last month.
CPI-based real effective exchange rate index was 182.9 points and PPI-based real effective exchange rate index was 153.5 points in February 2010.
