Turkish Industry & Trade Minister Nihat Ergun said that the capacity utilization rate was on the highest level of the past 21 months and it was over the expectations of market.

Turkey's Central Bank made public on Monday the results of the "Economic Tendency Survey" conducted among 1,930 enterprises operating in the manufacturing sector.

Accordingly, capacity utilization rate in manufacturing industry has been 74.7% in July. It was 67.4% in June, 2009. The largest rise was recorded in the wood industry with 84.1% while the smallest rise was recorded in the office equipment and computers production with 50%.

Ergun noted that the capacity utilization rate had been the highest one since September, 2008.

He also said that according to Central Bank, real sector confidence index increased one point to 112.7 in July when compared to June, 2010.

Ergun noted that the confidence in economy was influential in the positive tendency in the expectations for future.
