U.S. Eximbank says aims to boost export loan to Turkey

Chairman of U.S. Eximbank said on Friday that they aimed to boost export loan to Turkey.

Speaking to reporters in Ankara, Eximbank Chairman Fred Hochberg said the bank aimed to increase export loan from 1.6 billion U.S. dollars to 3 billion U.S. dollars for Turkey.

Hochberg said his meeting with Transportation Minister Binali Yildirim on Thursday was very fruitful.

The bank was interested especially in highway, railways and renewable energy projects in Turkey, he said.

Hochberg said there were sound military relations between Turkey and the United States and economic ties should be boosted.

Yildirim and he set 100 projects worth 350 billion U.S. dollars to be developed by 2022 and they expected Yildirim to visit the United States to inform U.S. companies about these projects, Hochberg said.

In regard to his meeting with Energy and Natural Resources Minister Taner Yildiz, Hochberg said they wanted to work with Turkey in the area of renewable energy.
