One USD climbed to 1.86 against Turkish lira (TL) in the Istanbul free market on Thursday.
Turkey's economy minister tried to assure markets on Wednesday, saying "that there was nothing to get panicked about economic developments in Turkey", commenting on rapidly rising of US dollar.
"Our country is being affected by developments in USD since it is implementing floating exchange rate regime, however there is nothing to panic and there is not any situation that can put Turkey into trouble," Caglayan told reporters in Istanbul.
USD began the day at 1.858 TL and rose to 1.861 TL since markets opened on Thursday. It is currently bought at 1.853 TL and sold at 1.861 TL.
One USD climbed to the same level against TL as markets closed on Monday, hitting all-time record.
In interbank market, the lowest and highest buying prices of one USD are 1.851 and 1.854 TL respectively, and they are 1.859 and 1.863 TL in selling.
