Visa exemption with several countries increased Turkey's export rate significantly.

Turkey Exporters' Assembly (TIM) Chairman Mehmet Buyukeksi told AA that visa was both a technical barrier and a psychological obstacle.

Noting that Turkey exported products to 242 countries and customs zones, Buyukeksi said that mobility of Turkey's export increased thanks to visa exemptions to several countries.

Turkey is progressing towards 500 billion USD of export target by 2023, he added.

Since the dates visa exemption started, our export to Jordan rose 69 percent, Russia 44 percent, Kyrgyzstan 43 percent, Lebanon 37 percent and Libya 19 percent, said Buyukeksi.

According to figures, Turkey's total foreign trade volume with Libya, Albania, Jordan and Kosovo, which had been 3.1 billion USD in 2009, increased to 4 billion USD in 2012.

Total export to these countries increased from 2.8 billion USD in 2009 to 3.4 billion USD in 2012.
