Turkey sent 10 athletes to the 14th IAAF World Athletics Championships and three Turkish athletes will compete on the first day events on Saturday in Moscow.

The organization of International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) of 14th World Athletics Championships which has just started on August 10 will continue till August 18 in Russian capital Moscow.

Having the most ratings after Olympiad, the championships have included the best 1,974 athletes in the world, who will compete in 26 branches, with 1,106male athletes and 868 female athletes.

Turkey has sent 10 athletes to the championships, 5 of them women.

On Saturday, in the women’s marathon, Sultan Haydar and Ummu Kiraz will compete for Turkey, while Polat Kemboi Arikan of Turkey will run in the men's 10,000 metres.

The championships take place at Moscow's Luzhniki Stadium.
