At least 44 people were wounded, four of them seriously, in a collision of two trains in western Switzerland on Monday.
The collision happened in Granges-pres-Marnand in Vaud canton, about 50km south-west of the capital, Bern at around 7 p.m. said the sources.
According to Swiss state TV channel SRF, 44 people were wounded, four of them in critical condition.
The most seriously injured passengers had been hospitalized by helicopter or ambulance near Lausanne. Others were treated at the scene.
Switzerland's rail system is considered among the best and safest in the world.
