Turkish Cypriot President Dervis Eroglu and leader of the Greek Cypriot administration Nikos Anastasiadis will hold their first meeting in Cyprus on May 29 at the residence of UN Secretary General's Special Envoy on Cyprus Lisa Buttenheim.
President Eroglu met with the UN Secretary General's Special Adviser on Cyprus Alexander Downer in the Turkish Cypriot capital of Lefkosa on Tuesday.
Speaking to reporters following his meeting with Downer, President Eroglu said that he held a very meaningful and beneficial meeting with Downer.
"Our priority is to reach a result by negotiations in Cyprus. There are alternatives if the Greek Cypriot administration does not have an intention to reach an agreement," Eroglu underlined.
"Negotiations in Cyprus must have a time limit and we must hold a quadripartite or quintuplet summit following the talks," Eroglu also said.
Downer, on his part, said that the two sides in Cyprus were keen on making progress in talks.Last Mod: 01 Mayıs 2013, 09:26
