Greek local "Channel 6", based in the mostly Turkish populated city of Iskece (Xanthi) in Western Thrace, prepares to release a news bulletin in Turkish.

The bulletin will reportedly be delivered three times a day starting on January 20.

"Channel 6 pioneers an initiative to create a new framework to communicate with minorities in Greece,” Yannis Sidiropulos, a journalist working for the channel, told AA.

He said the channel aims to address the Turkish minority in the language they use.

He noted it wasn’t certain whether they would be able to use the word "Turk," which is politically sensitive in Greece.
