Reports have emerged of a hostage situation and a suicide blast threat at a lyceum in Enghien-les-Bains, a northern Paris suburb. RAID, the French police counter-terrorism unit, is reportedly at the scene.
Photos of the extensive police presence and a safety perimeter around the area have appeared on social networks.
A local woman has posted a tweet to express her shock, “When your daughter tells you that there is a hostage-taking situation at her lyceum, with the RAID intervention.”
Newspaper Le Parisien, however, has denied the online reports of a hostage-taking at the lyceum. According to the media outlet, a “madman” is being surrounded by security forces.Last Mod: 11 Mart 2016, 13:29
