One of the victms of the ISIL attack on Paris in November Elif Dogan had been regularly providing a quarter of her income to three Muslim students in Senegal on a regular basis.
Elif Dogan, 26, originally from Turkey, had been living in Paris with her Belgian husband, Milko Jozi, an engineer, for only a few months. With her family arriving in Paris to begin legal proceedings, they were shocked to discover that Ms Dogan, on an income of 2000 Euro had been regularly been financially supporting 500 Euro to three Muslims students in Senegal.
In her high school years, Ms Dogan had lived in Senegal teaching French to African students - the news of her generosity both saddened her family but was also a source of pride. Her father, Kemal Dogan, also confirmed that the 30,000 Euro that will be distributed as compensation from the French government will also go to a scholarship in his daughter's name.
