Italian mobster Domenico Cutri, who escaped during a shootout while being escorted to court, was captured on Sunday in Inveruno, near Milan.

The police van, which was escorting 32-year old Domenico Cutri to his fraud trial, was attacked by gunmen in Gallarate on Monday, resulting in a shootout which the Italian media compared to a western film.

Cutri's younger brother, Antonino Cutri was killed and two police officers were wounded in the attack.

Domenico Cutri received a life sentence in December 2012 for ordering the murder of a Polish youth who was allegedly trying to woo Cutri's girlfriend.
