The Kremlin has negatively responeded to U.S. President Barack Obama's request Thursday to free Ukrainian pilot Nadiya Savchenko, who is being held by Russia.

"It is unacceptable for other countries' representatives to interfere in Russian trial of the Ukrainian pilot Nadiya Savchenko's case," the Kremlin spokesman, Dmitriy Peskov said.

Peskov said that "any outside interference in the work of Russian courts is impossible and inadmissible."

"It is also impossible to give any assessments or say anything until the completion of the trial and the imposition of sentence," Peskov concluded.

Earlier, Obama and the G7 have urged Russian President Vladimir Putin to release the jailed Ukrainian pilot.
