The 8th meeting of President Dervis Eroglu of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and Greek Cypriot leader Demetris Christofias under their peace talks aimed at finding a settlement to the Cyprus issue ended on Tuesday.
UN secretary-general's special Cyprus envoy, Alexander Downer, also participated in the talks and made a statement after 2.5-hour meeting. He said the parties discussed property topic.
Downer said the leaders would meet again on August 31 and continue to discuss the same topic.
Downer said Christofias invited Eroglu for dinner on August 31.
Asked about UN's good will mission for settlement of Cyprus question, Downer said related contract about the mission was renewed once in six months and noted he was not thinking of cancelling his contract at the end of the period.
Eroglu's predecessor Mehmet Ali Talat and Greek Cypriot leader Demetris Christofias got together 71 times under the extensive settlement talks, which began on September 11, 2008.
