Chairman of Turkey's main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) Kemal Kilicdaroglu on Thursday separately met with the Turkish Cypriot President Dervis Eroglu and Turkish Cypriot Prime Minister Irsen Kucuk in the Turkish Cypriot capital of Lefkosa.
Speaking to reporters after meeting the two Turkish Cypriot leaders, Kemal Kilicdaroglu stressed that they wished the process in Cyprus would end with healthy negotiations.
"The CHP considers Cyprus as a national cause and stands by the Turkish Cypriot people," Kilicdaroglu stated.
"As the main opposition party of Turkey, we consider it as our duty to extend support to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) under all circumstances," Kilicdaroglu also said.
Receiving Kilicdaroglu in his office, President Eroglu underlined that it was not possible to reach an agreement in Cyprus with the will of only one side.
Cyprus talks must resume immediately, Eroglu added.
Speaking to journalists after meeting Kilicdaroglu, Prime Minister Kucuk underlined that they believed they had to be in a strong relationship with Motherland Turkey for economic development.
“On behalf of the Turkish Cypriot people, I thank Kilicdaroglu for his support to the TRNC,” Kucuk also said.Last Mod: 03 Mayıs 2013, 09:44
