Racism has increased among French people according to an annual report by the French National Consultative Commission on Human Rights (CNCDH) on the fight against racism, anti-Semitism and xenophobia.

The report released Tuesday said 35 percent of surveyed French people acknowledged being racist comparing to 29 percent in 2012. Nine percent among them said they are "quite racist", and 26 percent said they are "a little racist”.

Romani people and Arab Muslims are the most targeted by racist behaviors, with eighty-seven of surveyed believing that Muslim and Roma people “are separate groups in French society”.

Six people out of ten said “certain behavior can sometimes justify racist reactions”.

The survey was conducted on a representative sample of 1,026 adults by BVA , a French institute conducting opinion polls.

Last Sunday, the country's anti-immigrant Front National (FN), led by Marine Le Pen, achieved historical success by winning in more than 11 towns.

When you ask someone about if s/he believes to be racist or not, the "yes, i'm racist" answer is actually a sign of honesty. I would trust a bit less people who really think they are perfect...By the way, the picture with German swastikas, used in the article, has nothing to do with France. The Italian words have been cut in the image. This kind of picture abuse is not very elegant.
