A report from an eye-witnesses at the anti-government protests in the Ukrainian capital Kiev has alleged that the police are using live ammunition fired by snipers to disperse the crowds.
Speaking to the Telegraph, one protester named Andreiy said that there was clear evidence that protesters were being shot in the head, neck, heart and limbs.
A Reuters photographer also said that there were 21 bodies lying out in the protest square, a number of whom had suffered gunshot wounds to the head.
While the use of rubber bullets and stun grenades are known in the protests, which started in November after the Ukrainian government refused a bailout deal offered by the EU after giving into Russian pressure, live rounds have been heard in the protests today from various locations.
Senior opposition leader Arseniy Yatsenyuk told Interfax that 13 people had been killed by sniper gunshots all together, as the death toll from violence in the past two days surpasses 50.Last Mod: 20 Şubat 2014, 15:56
