A Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) plane carrying 72 passengers was forced into an emergency landing in Gothenburg after receiving a bomb threat while in the air on Friday, authorities said.
The plane was en route from London to Stockholm when it was diverted to Landvetter Airport, in which air traffic was briefly interrupted because of the bomb threat, in Sweden’s second largest city Gothenburg. All passengers were evacuated.
Bomb technicians were rushed to the scene, according to Swedish daily newspaper Aftonbladet.
Landvetter Airport is Sweden’s second largest airport after Arlanda in Stockholm. It is located in a remote area of Gothenburg on the west coast.
