Syrian National Coalition (SNC) leader Ahmad Jarba said on Saturday that his delegation will attend the second round of Geneva II talks on February 10.
Speaking on a panel devoted to the Syrian crisis at the Munich Security Conference on Friday, Jarba said the SNC has always supported a democratic solution to the Syrian issue.
"Thousands of people have been killed during the peace talks in Geneva," Jarba said. "Despite all the deaths and disasters, we will attend the talks in Geneva on February 10."
The sides could not reach an agreement on the key issues during the first round of peace talks that ended Friday.
UN envoy Lakhdar Brahimi said the crisis in Syria can spread to the whole region if the two sides do not take serious steps towards a solution in the second round of talks.
Brahimi urged the US and Russia to put pressure on both sides to take further steps.
The Syrian government's delegation said they would consult with Damascus about attending the second round of talks.Last Mod: 01 Şubat 2014, 13:08
