Thousands of people have demonstrated in Copenhagen to protest against Israel’s operation in Gaza.

Socialist European Parliament member Margrete Auken told Monday’s rally: “Every morning we wake up with the news of death and destruction. We are here because of our anger and despair. Witnessing these deaths and destruction is unbearable. Our duty is to find a permanent solution.”

At least 1,055 Palestinians have been killed since July 7, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.
