Turkish Economy Minister Zafer Caglayan said that the economy of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) grew 2.8 percent, while the Greek Cypriot economy went bankrupt.

Caglayan met Economy & Energy Minister Sunat Atun of TRNC in Ankara on Thursday.

TRNC keeps advancing despite all injustices and embargoes imposed on it in the international area, said Caglayan, adding that national income per capita in TRNC increased 5.5 percent when compared to last year.

Caglayan noted that the TRNC drew more than one million tourists annually.

Turkish Cypriot minister Atun said that by the end of 2015, national income per capita in TRNC would be more than 17,000 USD, adding that they would reach this figure by the help of Turkey.

Atun said that the economic situation in Greek Cypriot administration was not pleasing, adding that Greek Cypriots now needed Turkish Cypriots.
