Turkish, Greek Cyprus football officials meet first since 1955

Cyprus Turkish Football Association (CTFA) and Cyprus Football Association (CFA) delegation came together for the first time since 1955 in a formal meeting in Lefkosa.

President of CTFA Hasan Sertoglu, President of CFA Kostas Kutsokumnis, FIFA's former director of international relations and CTFA Consultant Jerome Champagne and other authorities were present in the meeting that took place in CFA Headquarters in Greek Cypriot side.

Kutsokumnis said, "We would like to end the segregation in football. Both parties are willing to do so" and added that they were planning another meeting on the Turkish Cypriot side on January 17, 2013.

Sertoglu said, "The island has suffered from politicians deeply. All parties agree that there is a problem and we are going to work very hard to solve the problems."
