President Dervis Eroglu of Turkish Cyprus and Greek Cypriot leader Demetris Christofias met within the scope of Cyprus talks.

Turkish, Greek Cyprus leaders meet for 10th time

 

President Dervis Eroglu of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and Greek Cypriot leader Demetris Christofias met on Friday within the scope of Cyprus talks.

UN Secretary-General's Special Adviser to Cyprus Alexander Downer and UN Secretary General's Special Envoy in Cyprus Lisa Buttenheim also attended the meeting at the buffer zone.

The parties will continue to negotiate "property" topic. The leaders will mutually convey their detailed proposals about "property".

Eroglu and Christofias will also hold meetings on September 7 and 10 to discuss the proposals about "property" issue.

The leaders will also pay a visit to New York in September.

Eroglu's predecessor Talat and Greek Cypriot leader Christofias got together 71 times under the extensive settlement talks.

Dervis Eroglu was elected the new president of TRNC on April 18.
