Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) President Dervis Eroglu said that they would continue discussing the topic of property at a meeting with Greek Cypriot leader Demetris Christofias on Wednesday.

President Eroglu presided the weekly gathering of the cabinet on Tuesday.

Turkish Cypriot and Greek Cypriot leaders will meet on Wednesday to continue talks.

Eroglu and Greek Cypriot leader Demetris Christofias will meet at buffer zone in Lefkosa.

"This is the second time I attended the Council of Ministers meeting. I will exchange views with members of the cabinet on the Cyprus talks as well as recent developments," he told reporters prior to the meeting.

"I will meet with Christofias and his team tomorrow to continue discussing the topic of property. Christofias wants to discuss issues of territory and migrants under the same topic. But we reject it since we do not want to discuss other issues before completing debates on the topic of property," he said.

Referring to recent strikes and rallies held by the Platform of Trade Unions, President Eroglu said, "no one can object if such actions are held to claim rights."

Yesterday, the Platform of Trade Unions in TRNC held a rally in front of the parliament building to protest the economic measures package prepared by the government.

Eroglu's predecessor Mehmet Ali Talat and Greek Cypriot leader Demetris Christofias got together 71 times under the extensive settlement talks, which began on September 11, 2008.

Dervis Eroglu was elected the new president of TRNC on April 18.
