The landlords and tenants in the UK are going to be checked on whether or not they have documents proving legality of their stay in the country starting Monday.
According to the new measures, landlords renting to those without permit to stay in the UK are to be subjected to a fine between £1,000 and £3,000.
The Residential Landlords Association (RLA) said its members faced a difficult choice: they could "take a restrictive view with prospective tenants, potentially causing difficulties for the 12 million UK citizens without a passport" or "target certain individuals to conduct the checks, opening themselves up to accusations of racism."Last Mod: 01 Şubat 2016, 18:04
