A Berlin based Young Muslims (JUMA) organization is planning an extraordinary event to raise their voices over several issues which Muslims have to face in everyday life.
Covering Berlin streets with many different kinds of posters, the project aims to show the importance of Muslim integration into the German society and to overcome prejudices against Muslims.
The project, which is supported by the German Federal Ministry of Family Affairs, will bring a new perspective to some social disputes such as fanaticism, Islamphobia and xenophobia. These issues which are widely regarded as a cliché have been pictured in the posters under several titles like “being a foreigner” and “headscarf”.
Banners will be displayed in the most crowded places in Berlin for a week. Kübra Özermiş, a JUMA member said “Important steps have been taken to make Islam recognized legally in some states. This is our biggest wish.”Last Mod: 06 Ağustos 2013, 17:07
