As many as 14 academics have been detained as a part of the investigation against the coupist Fetullah Terror Organization (FETO) which was responsible for the July 15 coup bid that targeted the Turkish government.
The operation was led by the Istanbul Police Department and arrest warrants were issued for 30 academics, who are employed at Istanbul's Yıldız Technical University upon request of Istanbul Public Prosecutor's Office.
Turkey has been conducting an extensive investigation on FETO following the coup bid of July 15, which targeted the democratically-elected Turkish government.
