The Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) has released three stone quarry workers who were abducted by the group last month in the Tatvan district of Bitlis province.
Necip Şiringil, Emrullah Ayaz and Taner Aykut Al were kidnapped after a stone quarry where they work was raided by a group of PKK members in Tatvan. All three men were released by the group in the Yeşil Mezra region of Tatvan at 8:00 p.m. on Sunday. The quarry workers later went to the Tatvan District Gendarmerie Command where they were questioned about their abduction.
The men's abduction was one in a series of over 50 reported acts by the PKK in the past month despite an ongoing settlement process to solve the country's Kurdish issue. There has been increasing tension in the past few weeks.Last Mod: 06 Ağustos 2013, 11:14
