An earthquake measuring 4.7 on the Richter scale hit the Turkish part of the Mediterranean Sea yesterday, CNN Turk channel reported on Monday.
According to the Kandilli Observatory and Earthquake Research Institute of Bogazici University, the earthquake occurred at 02:30 local time.
Turkey is located in a seismically active area, and the earthquakes, often leading to the loss of human life, occur here frequently.
