Family and Social Policy Minister Fatma Sahin stated that the 8 special sergeants on whom investigations were launched after claims of their alleged sexual abuse of an underaged Bingol girl had been dismissed from the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK).
Sahin shared relevant developments from her Twitter account.
Expressing that the the Ministry of Family and Social Policies had intervened in the proceedings and are closely following developments in the sexual abuse claims of 16-year-old E.A., Sahin said, "The trial is still in progress. Our state is maintaining its resolute attitude. Currently the Gendarmerie General Command has dismissed the 8 people were their positions.”
The suspects who were taken into custody pending trial within the scope of the investigation had been released, but after the Ministry of Family and Social Policies objected to their being released pending trial, the court decided to arrest suspect M.T.
