A cargo vessel ran aground late Wednesday night off Marmara Island on the Marmara Sea coast, Turkish authorities said.
The ship's crew made a distress call to Turkish authorities after the engine room became flooded with water.
The Sierra Leone-flagged ship was en route to Libya from Istanbul's Tuzla district.
The Turkish coast guard was able to rescue all nine crew members and no injuries were reported.
