A Catholic bishop was stabbed to death in his summer mansion in southern Turkey.

A Catholic bishop was stabbed to death in his summer mansion in southern Turkey.

Luigi Padovese, the Pope's apostolic vicar in Anatolia, was stabbed in garden of his house in Iskenderun town of the southern province of Hatay.

He lost his life en route to hospital.

Italian Consul in western province of Izmir, Simon Carta, left for Iskenderun after learning about the killing.
